ABOUT US

Empowering young people through education, mentorship and opportunity.

Emerald Atibire Foundation (EAF) was founded from the lived experiences of its Founder, Emerald A. Atibire, whose early challenges in accessing education, guidance and support gave her a deep understanding of the barriers many children and young people face. In 2019, that understanding became action through community outreach and educational support for children in underserved communities. As the work grew, engagement with schools, girls experiencing menstrual-health barriers, and teenage mothers whose education had been interrupted revealed the need for broader, long-term support. These experiences shaped EAF into an organization committed to creating practical and sustainable pathways through education, mentorship, health and dignity, skills development, and community support—empowering people to build stronger, more independent futures.

WHY WE EXIST

Many children and young people face barriers that can disrupt their education, limit their opportunities and affect their future. These challenges include poverty, inadequate educational resources, limited access to guidance and mentorship, menstrual-health barriers, teenage pregnancy and limited opportunities for young mothers to rebuild their lives.

PREVENTION. SECOND CHANCES. POSSIBILITY

EAF works to address these barriers through education, mentorship and practical support. We help young people make informed choices and pursue their potential, while creating pathways for teenage mothers and vulnerable young women to return to education, develop practical skills and work toward greater independenc

OUR VISION

A future where children and young people, regardless of their circumstances, have access to the education, support and opportunities they need to realise their potential and build meaningful, sustainable futures.

To empower children, young people and women through education, mentorship, health and dignity, skills development and practical support, creating pathways to opportunity and sustainable futures.

OUR CORE VALUES

INCLUSION :Everyone deserves a fair chance

ACCOUNTABILITY: Acting with transparency and responsibility.

Our circumstances may shape where we begin, but they should never define where we end. I believe education, guidance and opportunity can change the direction of a life. Through Emerald Atibire Foundation, my commitment is to empower young people to make informed choices, support those facing difficult circumstances, and create meaningful pathways for those who need a second chance. Every child, young person and mother deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and build a future filled with possibility.

Emerald Atibire Foundation is committed to responsible leadership, transparency and accountability. Our governance structure ensures that programmes, partnerships and resources are managed responsibly and aligned with the Foundation’s mission.

Our work is rooted in Ghana, supporting schools and communities where children, young people and families face barriers to education and opportunity. We work with communities to understand their priorities and develop practical responses that reflect their needs.
